How to Activate the Indiana Prepaid VISA Debit Card
To activate your Indiana VISA® Debit Card for Unemployment payments, call the toll-free phone number at 1-888-393-5866 to set up your 4-digit PIN and start using your card today.
Before you can create your PIN, you will be asked to provide:
- Indiana VISA® Card Number
- Last 4-digits of your Social Security Number
- Date of Birth (MM/DD/YYYY)
Once complete, you will be asked to select your four (4) digit Personal Identification Number (PIN). You will be asked to enter your PIN a second time for verification.
Please note: You cannot receive unemployment insurance payments until you have successfully activated your card and registered your PIN.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Beginning February 1, 2020, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development is no longer be submitting payment to Unemployment Insurance Cardholders via the Indiana Visa EPPICard. To access your Indiana Unemployment Insurance benefits, please login the Uplink Client Self Service online portal to choose a new payment option. Your new payment options include direct deposit or a Key2Benefits prepaid MasterCard. Balances on the Visa EPPICard will remain available to spend or transfer to your personal bank account. Indiana Unemployment Insurance Payment Schedule
Indiana Unemployment payments are available in your Indiana VISA® Debit Card account for use on the banking day after your payment is deposited, received and processed.
Your Unemployment Insurance payments are posted in accordance with DWD monthly and weekly payment cycles. If you have questions about your Indiana Unemployment Insurance payments, including when your payment cycle, please contact the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD). To contact the Indiana DWD, call their Customer Service phone number at 1-800-891-6499. They are available to assist you Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Indiana Unemployment Card ATM Cash Withdrawal Fees
Avoid Transaction fees and Service charges with your Indiana VISA® Debit Card by using “in-network” PNC Bank or MoneyPass ATMs or VISA® Bank Tellers for cash withdrawals. You can also get cashback at any retailer displaying the VISA or Interlink logos.
The Indiana VISA® EPPICard provides unlimited free ATM Cash Withdrawals at in-network PNC Bank and MoneyPass ATM locations.
For transactions at out-of-network ATMs, the Indiana EPPICard allows one (1) FREE ATM Cash Withdrawal per month. Any additional ATM Cash Withdrawal conducted at an out-of-network ATM is subject to a $0.75 per transaction fee.
For transactions outside of the United States, there is a fixed 3% conversion fee for each International ATM Cash Withdrawal or Transaction.
For Bank Teller Cash Withdrawals, the Indiana VISA® Debit Card provides free withdrawals at VISA Member Bank locations.</p

Indiana EPPICard Fraud & Scams
Please be aware that there are current reports of phishing emails, cell phone text messages, and vishing phone calls that are intended to obtain personal and/or card information. Phishing and vishing is a type of scam designed to steal your personal information.
We will never request any of your personal information such as Social Security Number, EPPICard Number or PIN through our website. We highly recommend that you DO NOT respond to requests like these.
Being informed is your best defense. If you believe your Indiana EPPICard account has been compromised, please call Indiana VISA® Debit Card Customer Service as soon as possible. Submitting a request to report your card as lost or stolen will help to protect your Indiana Unemployment Insurance payments.
Indiana VISA® Debit Card Expiration
The Indiana VISA® Debit Card is good for three (3) years. If your card is about to expire, a new Indiana VISA® Debit Card will be mailed out to you approximately 30-days before the Expiration Date listed on your card.
If your mailing address has changed since your card was issued, call the Indiana Customer Service hotline (1-888-393-5866) or click here to find out how to update your address. Your new Indiana VISA® Debit Card cannot be forwarded to your new address. If they do not have your correct address, you may experience delays in receiving your Indiana Unemployment payments.
